What is Acrylic? It is a tough plastic and an alternative to glass. In this modern era, where everyone wants to stay trendy, people spend so much on clothing, furniture etc. Even for house hold things, starting from very basic to designer products and furniture we all want a cost effective solution. Acrylic products are best suitable for this.
These products offer number of advantages as listed below:
- It can be easily fabricated and shaped by heating at a high temperature. When it cools, it retains its formed shape and thus make it easier to shape them. So many items can be created using it such as- tables, chairs, utensils, decorative items etc.
- It is weather resistant and retains its color. Due to this property, the items made of Acrylic are preferred than normal plastic since you don’t need to change the items just because they have lost their color or have become less attractive.
- It is lighter than glass and is unbreakable. If you like the items made of glass but you cannot spend much amount in buying the breakable items, then the transparent acrylic is the best option for you.
- Acrylic is impact resistant. It has a tensile strength which is greater than 10,000 lbs. per square inch with impact resistance 6 to 17 times greater than ordinary glass. Thus, it won’t shatter and break even under very high impact.
